Duties and Responsibilities

The Carpenter reports to the Artisan Supervisor and is responsible for the following duties;

Carrying out all the carpentry repairs and maintenance on all buildings of the University.
Carrying out all carpentry repairs and maintenance of furniture e.g. chairs, desks, shelves, cupboards, cabinets etc for the University.
Carrying out all new carpentry works on buildings, furniture and facilities whenever this is not out-sourced.
Assessing and producing carpentry maintenance requirements for all University buildings and furniture on a regular basis.
Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the Director of Projects and Maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications

Artisan Class 1 or 2 in Carpentry and Joinery.
5 ‘O’ Levels including English and Mathematics/ Science.
At least two years as a skilled carpenter doing repairs and maintenance.
Experience as a Carpenter and Joiner on new works at construction site is an added advantage
