Position Summary
An exciting position for a multi-talented individual who is passionate about using digital media and creative arts in the fight for climate justice This position is a key support role responsible for assisting in developing a comprehensive campaign strategy. Ideally the individual is passionate about climate justice and has some knowledge of campaigning. The position is a combination of administrative, coordination and social media support services. This post is being offered on a fixed term contract basis.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign Planning and Implementation:
• Assist in the development and implementation of an Africa-wide digital media campaign around a critical climate justice issue.
• Support the campaign team in creating a comprehensive campaign plan, including goals, strategies, and tactics.
• Contribute to the identification and engagement of target audiences for the campaign.
Assist in coordinating campaign activities, including content creation, social media outreach, and online events.
Content Creation and Content Management:
• Collaborate with the campaign team to develop engaging and impactful digital content, such as social media posts, blog articles, videos, infographics, and interactive tools.
• Conduct research on climate change topics and gather relevant information to inform content creation.
• Manage and update campaign websites, blogs, and social media channels with timely and compelling content.
• Monitor and analyze campaign content performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
Social Media and Online Outreach:
• Establish, manage and support the growth of the campaign's social media presence across various platforms (e.g., TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
• Develop, in coordination with the campaign team, and implement social media strategies to increase campaign visibility and engagement. #vacancymail
• Monitor social media conversations related to the climate crisis & fossil fuel corporations, identify relevant trends, and participate in online discussions.
• Engage with campaign followers, respond to inquiries, and foster a sense of community around the campaign.
Stakeholder Engagement:
• Build and assist in maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including partner organizations, influencers, activists, and communities interested in climate justice.
• Coordinate communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including organizing virtual meetings, webinars, and consultations.
• Develop and disseminate campaign-related materials to partners and stakeholders.
Administrative Support:
• Provide administrative assistance to the campaign team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
• Assist in maintaining campaign documentation, including contracts, agreements, and financial records.
• Coordinate travel arrangements and logistics for campaign-related activities, if required.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
• Collaborate effectively with the campaign team, actively participating in meetings, brainstorming sessions, and decision-making processes.
• Support cross-functional collaboration with other teams or departments within the organization
Qualifications
Degree in Media, Marketing or Public Relations, or equivalent.
Proven work experience in project coordination and campaign strategies
• Tech savy and solid experience in social media management, content creation or digital media is ideal.
Passionate about climate justice
: Experience in civil society work is preferable.
