General Information
SOS Children's Villages is an independent, non-governmental international development organization which
has been working to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of children since 1949.
SOS Children's Villages is the largest non-governmental, non-denominational charitable child welfare
organisation in the world operating in 136 countries and territories. Its mission is to build families for children
in need, help them shape their own futures and share in the development of their communities. SOS Children's
Villages also supports educational programmes, and it is active in the field of child protection and child rights.
SOS Children’s Villages Zimbabwe runs Outreach programmes in Shamva, Hwedza and Umguza, and
Alternative Care programmes in Harare, Bindura and Bulawayo. In addition, SOS Children’s Villages runs 3
Early Childhood Development Centres, 4 Primary Schools and 1 Secondary School, these educational facilities
are in Harare, Bindura and Bulawayo.
Our Solicitation
We are therefore soliciting for proposals from firms of certified public accountants to audit SOS Children’s
Villages Zimbabwe’s financial statements for the fiscal year ending 31 December 2025 with the option of
auditing the Association’s financial statements for the three (3) subsequent fiscal years.
Objective of the Audit:
The audit objective is to obtain reasonable assurance on whether the financial statements are free from
material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and to express an opinion on whether the financial
statements present fairly, in all material respects, the finance position and performance of the association.
The audit will be performed in accordance with the General Secretariat Guideline for the SOS Children’s
Villages Accounting Standard.
The auditors will also be required to assess compliance with laws and regulations.
Selection Criteria
Accredited and certified audit firms are invited to participate by submitting proposals which cover the firm’s
profile, Trade license, Certificate of registration with the P.A.A.B, Valid Tax Clearance Certificate, Audit fee
proposed in United States Dollars, Staff members to be assigned for the audit and their profiles, The firm’s
experience to the scope of audits for non-governmental organization and the audit plan/methodology including
the firm’s approach to risk and fraud.

The proposal subject line should clearly read, “EXTERNAL AUDIT SERVICE.”
