Job Description
BOOST is committed to empowering adolescents and youth through innovation, skills development, and access to opportunities. As part of this commitment, we are establishing a comprehensive Youth Innovation Hub that integrates education and skills, mentorship, innovation tracking and expert engagement through a centralized digital platform. To this end, we are seeking an experienced Consultant or Consulting Firm to design and develop a customized E-Learning Management System (LMS) that will serve as the digital backbone of our Youth Innovation Hub.
Duties and Responsibilities
2. Objectives of the Assignment
The Consultant will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and initial training for a cloud-based LMS that integrates the following core functionalities:
Course Management: Hosting of modular e-learning courses with multimedia support, quizzes, certificates, and learner progress tracking.
User Management: Registration, authentication, and profile management for participants, mentors, and evaluators.
Innovation Submission & Review: Enable participants to submit innovation ideas/projects and allow external/internal experts to assess, score, and provide feedback.
Mentorship Matching & Management: Connect innovators with mentors based on expertise and project alignment.
Real-time Reporting & Dashboards: Admin dashboard with analytics on enrollments, course completion, innovation progress, mentor activity, and system usage.
Database Management: Secure and scalable management of participant data, course content, submissions, and evaluations.
Notifications & Communication Tools: Email, messaging system between users and mentors.
3. Scope of Work
Conduct a brief needs assessment and stakeholder consultation.
Design and prototype a user-friendly LMS interface (mobile responsive).
Develop and deploy the LMS on a scalable cloud platform.
Integrate required features and test functionality with key user groups.
Develop user manuals and training materials.
Conduct user training for administrators, facilitators, and mentors.
Provide technical support for at least 3 months post-deployment.
4. Deliverables
Inception report with workplan and system specifications.
Functional and tested LMS platform with all core features.
User documentation and admin manual.
Training sessions for stakeholders.
Final report with lessons learned and handover documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
5. Consultant Qualifications
Proven experience in LMS design and deployment (examples or links to previous work).
Strong knowledge of open-source or custom LMS solutions (Custom-built platforms).
Familiarity with innovation ecosystems or youth-focused platforms is an advantage.
Expertise in UI/UX, database security, cloud hosting, and system scalability.
Strong project management and communication skills.
