Call for Auditors – Annual Project Audit: Childline Zimbabwe

Childline Zimbabwe is a registered Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO 7/2001). Childline provides a 24hour child friendly reporting and counselling platform. The organisation seeks to provide children, families and those involved with children, preventative, educational, therapeutic and rehabilitation services in addition to research and advocacy. Childline’s vision is: ‘A Zimbabwe that is passionate about the protection of children, championing, guarding and protecting their rights’. This is achieved through the organisation’s mission: ‘To champion, defend and promote the rights of children in Zimbabwe through the provision of safe, confidential and child friendly reporting mechanisms centred around a free 24-hour counselling service’.
Duties and Responsibilities
With financial support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and Kindernothilfe (KNH), Childline Zimbabwe is seeking the services of an Auditor / Audit firm to carry out project audits annually for Project 76405 – Reintegration for Young People in Conflict with the Law EG 5151 and express an opinion on the financial presentation of the project by the organisation for 2021, 2022 and 2023
Qualifications and Experience
The objective of this assignment is for the Auditor to verify that the expenditure claimed by the Childline Zimbabwe in the Financial Report for the project has occurred, is accurate and eligible and to submit to Childline a report of factual findings with regard to the agreed-upon procedures performed. Eligibility means that the funds provided by the grant have been spent in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Project Agreement. The objective is further to obtain reasonable assurance whether Childline’s Financial Report is free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, thereby enabling the Auditor to express an opinion on whether the financial report was prepared, in all material aspects, in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in Zimbabwe.
