A youth-serving organization working to promote youth civic engagement, human rights, democracy and social justice in Zimbabwe is looking for an independent Resource Mobilization Consultant.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy to support programs and initiatives of the organization.
2. Identify potential funding opportunities, partnerships, and donors aligned with the youth organization's vision and objectives.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with potential donors, foundations, and other relevant stakeholders in Zimbabwe and internationally.
4. Prepare high-quality funding proposals, concept notes, and grant applications, ensuring timely submission.
5. Provide guidance and support to to the team members in creating strong funding proposals and grant management.
6. Conduct research and analysis on emerging trends and best practices in resource mobilization for youth-focused initiatives.
7. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of resource mobilization strategies and adjust as necessary.
8. Stay updated on relevant funding opportunities, policy changes, and donor priorities in Zimbabwe.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, or Social Sciences. A Master's degree is a plus.
2. Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation is a must.
3. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in resource mobilization, fundraising, or business development, preferably in a non-profit or youth-focused organization.
3. Strong knowledge of the international and local funding landscape, including donors, grant-making organizations, and foundations.
4. Proven track record in developing successful funding proposals and securing grants from diverse sources.
5. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, government officials, and civil society organizations.
6. Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to identify new funding opportunities and trends in resource mobilization.
7. Knowledge of youth development and governance issues in Zimbabwe is highly desirable.
