Job Description

We are one of the leading FMCG companies in Zimbabwe looking for suitably qualified and motivated individual to fill in the the position of Buyer. The role entails managing the whole procurement chain including ordering, engaging suppliers, managing the quantity and quality levels and making follow ups on orders. The position also involves working closely with the Store Manager and the Floor Supervisor to determine buying priorities and ensuring that there is communication with central warehouse.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To ensure constant growth in sales and sales margins as well as to effectively buy to
ensure sales growth and increase in gross margins.
• To achieve the financial key result areas set by management focusing on the price,
product, place and promotion within the designated retail outlet.
• To analyze customer buying patterns, understand seasonal trends, predict future
trends and use scientific ordering, ensuring zero stock outs on shelf.
• To ensure that there is constant and continuous awareness of direct competition
specifically focusing on pricing and product range.

Qualifications and Experience

Skills we’re looking for include excellent organizational ability, strong leadership, planning and communication skills.

To be an ideal candidate for the Buyer position, one should hold at least a Degree in Purchasing and Supply or related with at least three years relevant traceable experience in the same role.
