Job Description

Institute for Community Development in Zimbabwe (ICODZIM) is a registered women founded women led and for women organization currently operating in Masvingo and Midlands provinces of Zimbabwe. The organization was formed in 2015 and completed registration in 2017.

The organization was formed by and for diverse women including women with disabilities, in rural, commercial farm and mining communities. ICODZIM recognizes that women and girls are not a homogeneous group as such their needs vary depending on a number of factors including age, social, economic and political environment, geographical location, disability and level of education. We recognize that even among women and girls with disability their vulnerabilities to oppression, marginalization also depends on the nature of disability, level of education, income age and geographical location.

ICODZIM has over 5000 members both disabled and non-disabled women and girls from commercial farming, mining and urban communities and these are the primary beneficiaries of our programs. The members constitute the Districts Implementation Committees which facilitates the implementation of various projects, community monitoring of project results at district level and at ward and village level the organization work with women’s action groups.

Duties and Responsibilities

The organization invites applications from suitable Women Leaders who are passionate about Intersectional Approach to women’s programming and contributing to the advancement of Women’s Rights to join ICODZIM board of trustees.

Qualifications and Experience

ICODZIM seeks Board Members with the following assets:

Significant experience in championing women’s rights and amplifying feminist perspectives
• Demonstrable ability to provide strategic direction and steer organizational development
• Experience and or passionate about women and disability rights
• Gravitas to lead a women organization and commitment to the vision, mission and values of ICODZIM.
• Ability to Fundraise and build strategic partnerships for the organization.
