Job Description
Wanted is a sales and applications executive with a qualification in Microbiology and Biotechnology or related fields for a small company in Harare.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Present, promote and sell the company’s product portfolio using solid technical arguments to existing and prospective customers
primarily focus on clinical diagnostics and research related products
Occasionally, other medical products
• Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
• Provide a forecast of product requirements for the year and update the forecast at the end of every sales period.
• Construct deals with management and other team members on cash sale, lease or reagent rental basis, within the company pricing policy, while meeting client’s technical and budget requirements,
• Coordinate sales effort with other team members and other departments and maximize cross selling opportunities.
• Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships with pathology and research laboratories, partners and end-users to manage the opportunity pipeline.
• Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders within assigned territory.
• Work with the local and regional marketing team to disseminate our core strengths and product positioning, marketing campaigns
• Give expert support to all qualified sales situations, to include product demonstrations, presentations, seminars, evaluations, trainings, product trials etc leading to a proposal and sale being closed.
• Keep abreast of best practices in the field and promotional trends and continuously improve through feedback
• Attend field conferences, trade shows, and organise exhibitions
• Reach out to prospective customer leads through cold calling and emailing
• Organise end user training and provide after-sale technical support until the customer has reached a position of competence.
• Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize customer satisfaction
Qualifications and Experience
• BSc Honours in Microbiology and Biotechnology or related fields
• Molecular biology experience and/or medical technologist background preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, computer and technical communication and presentation skills.
Willingness to travel
