Duties and Responsibilities

The Beef and Dairy Manager should be able to:

Plan and coordinate the Beef and Dairy Project Strategic Plan and Reviews;
Assist the Project Coordinator in developing annual maintenance work plans including production, marketing and training;
Assist the Project Coordinator in updating Farm Standard Operating Procedures;
Implement farm activities, ensuring the timely purchase of machinery, equipment and Beef and Dairy production inputs;
Coordinate and supervise day-to-day Beef and Dairy production cycles;
Coordinate maintenance activities including engineering, equipment and infrastructure;
Inspect equipment to ensure proper functioning and marketing of Beef and Dairy products including semen;
Interpret and implement Government and the Bindura University of Science Education policies with regards to labour management and enforcing occupational health and safety regulations;
Maintain financial and administrative records as well as production records, maintaining an up-to-date asset inventory and human resources records;
Negotiate with relevant Government Departments, banks, and input suppliers to obtain equipment and input loans or contracts on behalf of the University and linking the Beef and Dairy Project with potential partners;
Prepare weekly reports and financial statements.

Qualifications and Experience


Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have either a Diploma in Agriculture/Animal Health and Production/ or its equivalent;
At least three (3) years post qualification experience working with farm animals at a large scale;
A minimum of five (5) Ordinary level passes including English Language, Mathematics and Science.
