An exciting opportunity has arisen in a bakery concern with a number of branches for the position of Bakery Consultant. The role entails achieving set production targets through efficiently and effectively utilising all material, financial and human resources. The role requires an energetic individual who has been exposed to the baking environment internationally and who takes a hands on approach to bakery production.
Duties and Responsibilities
Drive profitability of central baking plant and in-store bakeries by formulating strategies that improves production efficiency.
Provides strategic operations insight to daily baking processes by offering solutions to complex baking issues.
Controls workforce and provide resources efficiently to drive and deliver production targets.
Ensures that all production targets are achieved within the set timelines with planned resources. Introduce new bakery products and recipes for the top end market.
Continuously aims to improve bakery production process by employing best practise methods.
Ensuring bakery production processes adherence and compliance with regulatory framework and standard operating procedures.
Training bakery staff on new product offering and quality improvement.
Carry out a staff capability assessment and developing training plans and programs.
Maintains an accurate record of all work activities, production manuals and plans and tracking all bakery costs with a view to reduce them.
Maintain the right bakery product quality and factory hygienic standards.
Provide leadership to the bakery production team and ensuring that staff is highly engaged and motivated
The ideal person must possess the following:
Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Production or Management Science, Business Studies,
At least four years’ experience in a baking environment. Exposure to international bakery set up is a distinct advantage.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and a good understanding of working with numbers.
Skilled in developing and executing a sourcing and supply chain strategy in a similar baking environment.
Production planning and work scheduling are prerequisites and knowledge of various baking recipes.
