Job Description

Wanted is a reliable Auto Electrician with good work ethics. The candidate must be able to work independently, carrying out all auto-electrical fleet maintenance activities, troubleshoot problems, read schematics and must have experience with construction trucks.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Determine the nature of any electrical malfunctions.
• Determines malfunction of electrical system by visual inspection and use of testing devices such as oscilloscope, voltmeter and ammeter.
• Estimates the cost of repairs based on parts and labor charges.
• Repairs or replaces defective wiring.
• Adjusts ignition timing and measures and adjusts distributor breaker-point gaps.
• Tests and repairs starters, generators and distributors.
• Rebuilds electrical units, such as starters, generators and door controls.
• Drives vehicles to test the quality of work performed.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Performing daily and routine maintenance work
• Attending to breakdowns
• Completely performing disassembling and assembling of related equipment and accessories
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

- At least a Diploma in Auto Electrical
- Attained Journeyman Class 1
- At least 5 years experience
- Traceable experience on construction trucks i.e Tippers, Mixer Truck a Must (details of Trucks worked on must be shown on the CV)
- Experience on SINO trucks a distinct added advantage
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret user manuals correctly
- Strong communication skills
