Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Auto Electrician to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in a fleet of commercial vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical faults in trucks, trailers, and other vehicles.
• Install and maintain vehicle wiring systems, batteries, alternators, starters, and lighting.
• Troubleshoot issues with electronic control units (ECUs), GPS systems, and sensors.
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical components to prevent breakdowns.
• Collaborate with mechanics and fleet controllers to ensure timely repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records and repair logs.
Qualifications and Experience
• Tertiary qualification in auto electrics or equivalent.
• Class 1 or 2 Certificate in auto electrics
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an auto electrician in a large and modern commercial set-up.
• Valid Class 2 or 1 drivers license.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and vehicle electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and schematics.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
