Job Description
SME Association of Zimbabwe (Harare office) is seeking to recruit attachment students is seeking motivated and enthusiastic students pursuing entrepreneurship/ business management programs at recognized institutions to join us for an attachment/internship opportunity. This program aims to provide students with hands-on experience in working with micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and assisting them in implementing various programs to foster business growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the SME Association of Zimbabwe team to identify and select MSMEs eligible for program participation.
- Assist in conducting needs assessments and developing tailored business development plans for selected MSMEs.
- Support the implementation of business development programs, workshops, and training sessions for MSMEs.
- Conduct research and gather data on market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory frameworks relevant to MSMEs.
- Provide administrative support, including documentation, data entry, and report preparation.
- Collaborate with the team to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of implemented programs.
This is a structured attachment program that will see recruits going through basic training in provision of consulting services to small and medium enterprises to help them grow their businesses. It is a great learning opportunity for entrepreneurially-minded students who are driven by superior performance in both learning of new theoretical concepts, as well as practical application of those concepts to SME businesses. Successful interns will be considered for permanent positions post-graduation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in entrepreneurship or business management at a recognized institution.
- Strong passion for entrepreneurship, business development, and supporting MSMEs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A natural inclination towards perfomance
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle diverse responsibilities.
- Knowledge of the local business landscape and understanding of challenges faced by MSMEs in Zimbabwe.
Candidates MUST be resident in Harare.
