Job Description

Project: Constructive Transformation of Community Conflicts in Chipinge and Chimanimani Districts, Manicaland

Location: Chipinge

General Role

The Attaché will report to the Project Coordinator and field implementing officers at CELUO. This role involves supporting the implementation and documentation of peacebuilding projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordination of Peacebuilding Initiatives

● Assist in developing and coordinating activity schedules for peacebuilding initiatives.
● Ensure alignment of field activities with overall project objectives and timelines.
● Support the project team in organizing community workshops and stakeholder meetings.
2. Facilitation of Community Workshops and Trainings

● Assist in facilitating workshops and trainings focused on conflict transformation and peacebuilding.
● Collaborate with field officers to improve training materials continuously.
3. Data Collection and Documentation

● Take minutes during project meetings and workshops.
● Prepare and submit weekly reports on project progress to the Project Coordinator, and assist in monthly and quarterly departmental reports.
● Contribute to mid-year and annual reports for WFD.
● Assist in training WaPeTes on new analog and digital M&E tools.
● Document community feedback and observations to support adaptive project implementation.
● Translate community reports and templates between Shona and English as needed.
● Collect data on project activities, participation, and outcomes for monitoring and evaluation.
● Maintain organized and up-to-date project information and documentation.
● Support field officers in documentation and report writing.
● Assist in visualizing project information for reporting purposes.
4. Communication with Community Structures and Stakeholders

● Maintain close communication with field officers, community structures, and district stakeholders for smooth project implementation.
● Exhibit good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate between Shona and English.
● An educational background in community-based projects or peacebuilding initiatives is an advantage.

Qualifications and Experience

Requirements

● Studying towards a degree in (e.g., Peace Studies, Governance, International Relations, Geography, Environmental Studies, Disaster Management, Natural Resources Management).
● Strong skills in research, analysis, documentation, and report writing.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Familiarity with peacebuilding and governance.
