Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Underwriter to join our team. The
successful candidate will play a key role in underwriting operations, claims management, and the
development of our agriculture portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
· Underwrite inward business and process claims in line with company guidelines.
· Supervise the processing of cancellation notices to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
· Compile renewal lists, statistics, and schedules for business placements.
· Prepare and dispatch renewal letters to cedants.
· Monitor renewal progress reports for both facultative and treaty business.
· Prepare performance reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
· Compile periodic operational and management reports.
· Support the marketing and promotion of the company's reinsurance products.
· Develop and manage the agriculture insurance portfolio.
· Handle claims management processes efficiently and professionally.
· Perform any other underwriting-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering or a related field; OR
· At least 7 ACII/IISA subjects for non-degree holders.
· Minimum of 2 years' experience in insurance or reinsurance.
· Strong analytical and underwriting skills
· Excellent report writing and communication abilities
· Good interpersonal and relationship management skills
