Job Description

We seek to recruit outstanding and result oriented individuals to fill the following posts in our organization. Being of Zimbabwean nationality would be a must.

Zimbabwe Smallholder Organic Farmers' Forum (ZIMSOFF)
ZIMSOFF officially registered in 2007 is the voice of the smallholder farmers’ struggling for social justice in Zimbabwe. It envisions empowered agroecology communities of practice for seed and food sovereignty and climate justice. Its mission statement is to influence policies and public awareness towards agroecology and smallholder farmers’ rights.

ZIMSOFF National Staff Team

The main role of the ZIMSOFF National Staff Team is to organize and facilitate the work of the ZIMSOFF Board members from 4 clusters so that they can fully participate and give full political guidance to the organization.
In order to do this, planning the year activities is of key importance: to make sure that meetings are organized, mobilizations prepared, clusters consulted and new issues incorporated.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key job purpose
He or She will ensure timely production and dissemination of high quality public information on ZIMSOFF Program through various platforms (print, web, broadcast and social media). Define and promote a consistent corporate identity for ZIMSOFF internally and externally. Create a 21st century "culture of communication" at ZIMSOFF by strengthening capacities of field officers. Contribute to managing ZIMSOFF's reputation by monitoring public opinion and concerns at district and provincial levels, and responding to them strategically. Editing field officers reports with a demonstrated ability to capture complex ideas and express them in clear and concise writing.

Responsibilities
• He or She will develop the ZIMSOFF internal communications strategy. Plan, support and monitor its implementation.
• Assist in developing and delivering information and communication products intended for other platforms and channels, and keep these products updated and relevant.
• Produce information to update content in the ZIMSOFF Website and Facebook. Support outreach to ZIMSOFF national office to enhance linkages between the National Office and Clusters to increase their coordination.
• Help assess the internal communications needs and capacities of Field Officers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Good organizing and administrative skills.
• Good writing &communication skills.
• Able to communicate in English and other local languages.
• Understanding of national processes.
• Political capacity to work with the national leadership of ZIMSOFF.
• Capacity to work in a team.
• Attention to detail.
• Capacity to work under pressure.
• Fresh from a reputable College or University with relevant social work or agriculture qualification.
