Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position which has arisen at the Women’s University in Africa, Harare campus.

Reporting: The Assistant Payroll Administrator will report to the Payroll Administrator.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Collecting and verifying payroll input data;
Entering employee information and payroll data into the system;
Answering employees' questions and concerns regarding payroll;
Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, taxes, and deductions;
Processing new employees, promotions, and terminations;
Issuing statements detailing earnings and deductions;
Issuing and delivering salary advice slips to employees;
Assisting the Payroll Administrator in investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies;
Maintaining and updating payroll records; and
Preparing periodic payroll reports.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent from a recognised university;
Diploma/Certificate in Payroll Administration from a reputable examination board;
Professional certification in Payroll Administration from a reputable institution is an added advantage;
Five (5) ordinary level passes including English Language and Mathematics;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programmes;
Knowledge of Payday Payroll System is an added advantage; and
At least one (1) year of experience as an Assistant Payroll Administrator/Payroll Clerk.
