Job Description

Reporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in promoting an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Assistant Coach assists in providing leadership and supervision for team and works closely with the other technical team members and the administration staff of the Club.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Assess player's skills, monitor players during competition and practice, and keeps the head Coach informed of the athletic performance of the students.
• Encourage the players to play in the spirit of the game.
• Invent strategies and steps to aid the players to improve their performance by studying various ways to refine the steps used in the game and by coming up with the new ones.
• Motivate their performance through positive reinforcement.
• Provide the sports equipment and maintain the equipment room.
• Assist the head coach to create opportunities for the players to learn and develop soccer skills, sportsmanship and related values of athletic competition.
• Practice the line of attack for the game and take drills for the players on daily basis. But before, the assistant coach must himself practice such strategies to make the application more relevant and easier for the players.
• Keep head coach informed of the developments of the players.
• Take follow up drills for the players to practice on daily basis.

Qualifications and Experience

• As an assistant soccer coach, you would have to be energetic, healthy in mind and have the spirit to represent yourself as a father figure for the team.
• You must possess all-round knowledge about the game.
• Keep abreast with the new strategies and new changes in game management that may have evolved during recent times.
• Efficient communication skills along with a good rapport with the team players and the Head Coach.
• Excellent motivational skills to help the performers to overcome the risks faced while playing the game.
• A disciplined attitude to monitor the timelines for the performers to practice on the nets.
• Must possess a Caf A licence or better
• At least below 35yrs of age
• Previous PSL coaching experience in a similar position or above preferred.
• Must be computer literate, be able to read and write in English
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail.
• Valid at least class 4 driver's license.
