ASSISTANT MANAGER - ICT

Job Description

Reporting to the Finance and Investments Director, the role provides strategic and technical direction for the development, implementation and maintenance of a sound policy framework and cost-efficiency of the Group’s systems and processes, network, database architecture and data security to achieve consistency and reliability

Duties and Responsibilities

 Formulates the company's ICT strategies and policies to facilitate the delivery of reliable, technology driven and cost-effective services.
 Implements the ICT vision, strategy and action plans for the Group
 Manages the overall technology infrastructure for the Group including planning, implementation and management of the software applications and hardware infrastructure that support operations.
 Plans, develops and directs the implementation of policies and manages the execution in all support sections (direct reports).
 Supports Business units and their initiatives by facilitating provision of appropriate technologies
 Manages the delivery of strategic ICT deliverables to promote effective and efficient delivery of the company's mandate.
 Manages stakeholder effectively both internal and external (e.g. system/software vendors, hardware suppliers, network suppliers, staff etc)
 Ensures that the company's processes and practices comply with relevant legislation/circulars and industry best practices
 Oversees the design of infrastructure architecture and applications for optimal outputs and outcomes.
 Oversees installation and configuring of new hardware, software, database systems and middleware.
 Ensures ICT infrastructure is up and running to agreed/expected uptime levels.
 Ensures seamless integration of systems
 Leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive Management Information System (MIS) to aid in decision-making.
 Advises senior management on new ICT trends and how they impact on the business and the achievement of set strategic objectives
 Manages and supports multiple LAN, WAN and VPN's.

Qualifications and Experience

 Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in ICT.
 A Master's Degree in either Information Technology, Computer Science or any related field will be an added advantage.
 At least 5 years’ experience at a senior level in a banking or microfinance organization
 Experience in the Banking Sector is an added advantage.
