National Foods prides itself in developing and growing its people! We are thrilled to announce the opening of job opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant in our Downpacked Business Unit.
The Assistant Management Accountant will work closely with the Management Accountant to provide timely, accurate and insightful financial information to support sound business decisions, cost control and performance improvement across the Business Unit. The role ensures financial governance, cost discipline and business profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities
As the Assistant Management Accountant your key responsibility areas are:
• Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, highlighting key cost drivers, variances, and profitability insights.
• Develop and update product costing models in SAP to ensure accurate reflection of raw materials, conversion, and overhead costs.
• Coordinate and supervise inventory accounting, ensuring accurate stock valuation, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Participate in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning for the Business Unit.
• Maintain the price book, ensuring pricing models and product margins are accurate and aligned with company policy.
• Prepare throughput and yield reconciliations and investigate production variances.
• Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with SOPs and internal control frameworks.
• Provide proactive financial insights to the Unit Manager to drive operational efficiency and margin improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this role, you will require the following credentials:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Professional qualification or studying towards CA(Z), ACCA, CIMA Qualification.
• At least years of experience in Management Accounting within an FMCG or related environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis
• Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP) and advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
