Assistant Librarian (1 Post)
• Providing content for marketing the library resources and services in various formats.
• Developing measurable objectives to review and evaluate the success of marketing strategies implemented.
• Serves as the central clearing point for all library communication materials to ensure a consistent library identity and branding.
• Oversees and maintains the library’s social media presence.
• Spearheading observance of the Open Access Week and other important dates in the library sciences calendar.
• Develop templates and tools for Library staff to use independently to promote programs, services, and the collection.
• Providing content to upgrade the library webpage and electronic subject guides.
• Maintains working knowledge of contemporary issues, trends and technology in the library and marketing profession by attending workshops, professional meetings, and reading current literature.
• Assist in analysing feedback data to determine and provide valuable information for future marketing strategies.
• Work closely with the Marketing Department in developing library promotional content and branded materials.
• Assist in conducting library market surveys annually.
• Assists in preparing for accreditation and managing the marketing section during the events.
• Providing input in policy reviews and formulation.
• Plans, conducts, and evaluates library programs and outreach in coordination with the department.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Library and Information Science.
• Possession of a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science will be an added advantage.
• The applicant should have at least one (1) year experience in an academic library, with an appreciation of digital marketing.
