Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill in the vacant posts of Assistant Director of Finance (Revenue)
• Support the Finance Director in the general management of the department.
• Implementation of accounting and related policies and informing the review of the same policies.
• Shall handle tax issues for the Council.
• Supervision of activities across the department.
• Produce periodic management accounts for committee meetings
• Production of final accounts and consolidation with council's strategic business units accounts
• Prepare audit files and underlying supporting documents.
• Ensure complete and full reconciliation of all council's reconcilable lodgers items.
• Budget tracking to ensure payments and procurement compliance.
• Supervision of maintenance activities and asset register.
Qualifications and Attributes
• An Accounting degree or Finance Degree from a recognized institution.
• A Post Graduate Degree will also be an added advantage.
• Applicant should have at least five years practical experience in the field of Municipal Accounting at a senior level.
• Should demonstrate capacity to supervise accounting activities.
• Must have traceable proof of having produced final accounts for at least two years.
• Must be able to produce reliable periodic management accounts reports.
• Must be able to do financial investment appraisal for proposed projects
• Exposure to local authorities accounting systems is a must.
In addition the applicant should be a member of at least one of the following professional bodies
• Institute of Chartered Accountants (Zimbabwe). (ICAZ)
• Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Zimbabwe). (ICPAZ)
• Institute of Chartered Secretaries Administrators. (ICSAZ)
• Institute of Management Accountants. (CIMA)
• Association of Certified and Chartered
• Accountants. (ACCA)
• Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy. (CIPFA)
The applicant should at least be a registered General Accountant (2) under PAAB or should provide pouf from PAAB that registration is in progress.
