Job Description
Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified persons to fill in the following vacancy that has arisen within Croco Holdings group.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance on diesel equipment.
• Support repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and braking systems.
• Help dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble components under supervision.
• Perform routine servicing such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
• Assist in maintaining mining equipment such as:
• Dump trucks
• Excavators
• Front-end loaders
• Dozers and graders
• Assist in conducting routine inspections and identifying mechanical faults.
• Report defects and abnormal equipment behavior to the supervisor.
• Follow safe lifting, handling, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Report hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately.
Qualifications and Experience
Key Skills and Attributes
• Basic mechanical and technical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly.
• Good problem-solving ability.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in demanding conditions.
• Strong commitment to satety.
• Exposure to oil, grease, dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
• Shift work, including standby and emergency breakdown response.
• Minimum: National Certificate / Class 4 Journeyman (Diesel Plant Fitting) or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment.
• 2-4 years' experience in a mining or heavy equipment environment is an advantage.
