Job Description

Reporting Senior Assistant Accountant, the purpose of the job is to assist in the preparation of management reports, budgets and management of Council’s investment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key performance areas

Responsible for management reports.
Assist in the preparation of final accounts.
Assist in the preparation of monthly returns.
Posting transactions in the Sun Accounting System.
Maintaining and updating Council investments.
Follow up on investment maturity from institutions.
Supervise timely payment of salaries and salary related expenditure.
Paying senior management salaries.
Participates in the preparation of the Council’s master budget.
Prepare budgets for UNICEF funded projects.

Qualifications and Experience

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

5 Ordinary levels including English Language plus 2 Advanced levels passes
Possess Degree in Accounting, C.I.S, A.C.C.A, C.I.M.A or equivalent qualifications.
Master degree in a relevant field an added advantage
Have at least three years working experience
Be computer literate with good knowledge of Sun System

Required Competencies and Attributes

Must be able to work with figures
Highly Computer literate
Good communication skills
