Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:-
• Ensure the safety and security of students, staff, visitors and University property.
• Provide access control services, by monitoring entry and exit gates, as well as searching of vehicles and persons.
• Carry out patrol duties, inspecting buildings and properties to ensure they are properly secured.
• Attend scenes of crime, carry out preliminary enquiries and compile reports.
• Testify and present evidence in local disciplinary proceedings as well as in criminal courts of law.
• Liaise with various institutions such as the Zimbabwe Republic Police and Fire Brigade on matters of safety and security that affect the University.
• Carry out inspections of goods received by various University departments to ensure they conform to procured quantities and quality.
• Book in and out all University vehicles, and recording mileage.
• Do public order and crowd control duties.
• Protect University projects and business unit outside Campus.
• Conduct any other duties as assigned by the Asset Protection Services Director through his lieutenants

Qualifications and Experience
The positon requires an individual with:-
• 5 “O” level passes including English.
• A clean criminal record.
• A high degree of honesty, integrity and the ability to undergo security training.
• Motivation, self- driven, energetic and physically fit individuals of good deportment.
