We are seeking qualified and experienced Artisan- Electrical to join our team. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the successful applicants will, among other key duties, be responsible for:
• Assembling and installing electrical wiring, control systems, lighting, and plant machinery (e.g., motors, transformers, and switchgear).
• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and emergency repairs on electrical infrastructure to minimize downtime.
• Using diagnostic tools like multimeters, megger testers, and thermal scanners to identify the root cause of electrical failures.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics to ensure work complies with local and national codes (e.g., National Electrical Code).
• Performing risk assessments, ensuring station lockout/tag-out procedures are followed, and adhering to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) policies.
• Supervising apprentices, semi-skilled personnel, or assistants and providing on-the-job training.
• A National Certificate (NC) or Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering or a relevant vocational field.
• Must hold a valid Trade Test Certificate - Journeyman Class 1 Electrician.
• 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in a specific industry like mining, manufacturing, or power generation.
• Proficiency in working with low and medium voltage, VSDs (Variable Speed Drives), and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
