Job Description
Accounts Officer
Medical Laboratory & Clinical Scientists Council, Zimbabwe is looking for a detail-oriented and diligent accounts officer. The accounts officer will be responsible for examining and auditing Council financial records to ensure overall accuracy and legal compliance. We are seeking a dedicated candidate who will not only manage the bookkeeping but also make educated recommendations on budget efficiency and improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Timely inspect financial records to ensure accuracy and overall legal compliance with regulations & accounting procedures.
• Calculate taxes payable, prepare tax returns, complete financial tax transactions
• Look for inefficiencies and improvement opportunities in the budget, and make recommendations to management
• Ensure financial statements are organized and maintained at all times
• Create regulatory reports for internal & external auditors
• Develop forecasts based on market and company trends, prepare operational and potential earning reports
Qualifications and Experience
Account Officer Requirements and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting and professional qualification (ACCA or CIMA)
• Experience in a public accounting
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures
• Hand-on experience with accounting software like Pastel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
• A clean class 4 drivers licence
