Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following post:
BURSAR’S DEPARTMENT – FARM UNITS
POST A: ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT – GWENORO FARM
Duties and Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily administration of financial and accounting practices of the farm.
Maintaining the financial records of the farm and ensuring adequate internal controls are in place.
Ensuring that all statutory obligations are timely met.
Ensures inventory is properly recorded by the stores in pastel.
Ensuring that all cash and credit sales are properly accounted for and recorded in pastel.
Ensuring that purchase requisitions are authorised and processed in the system.
Preparation of daily and periodic sales analysis reports.
Reconciliation of Farm general ledger accounts.
Budget preparation and monitoring of expenditure in line with the approved budget.
Preparation of monthly and year-end Farm trading accounts.
Support financial and regulatory audits.
Supervision of farm finance staff.
Any other duties as may be delegated by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree / Higher National Diploma in Accounting.
Working towards attaining a Professional Course, ie ACCA, CIMA, ICSA will be an added advantage.
At least two years of relevant post qualification working experience.
