Accountant
Reports To: Business Owner Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role
We are a growing food processing company with operations spanning production, distribution,
and sales. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to manage
all financial operations and provide accurate reporting to support sound business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts using an accounting package,
ensuring data integrity across all financial records
• Process, track, and reconcile all sales invoices, receipts, and payments in a timely
manner
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments and customer
collections, minimising outstanding balances
• Perform detailed product costing for manufactured goods, including bill-of-materials,
labour, and overhead allocation, to support accurate pricing decisions
• Track daily and monthly production output against targets, monitoring yield, wastage,
and efficiency variances across production lines
• Monitor and analyse manufacturing costs (raw materials, labour, and overheads) against
budget, investigating variances and identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Prepare and present monthly profit & loss, cash flow, and balance sheet reports with
meaningful analysis and commentary
• Ensure full compliance with all tax obligations including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax,
meeting all statutory deadlines
• Lead preparation for annual audits and financial reviews, liaising with external auditors
and resolving queries efficiently
• Prepare monthly management accounts, providing accurate and timely financial
information to support management decision-making
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial and
operational processes, ensuring consistency and compliance across the business
Requirements
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role (FMCG or manufacturing background is an
advantage)
• Proficiency in an accounting package (Pastel, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and high level of integrity
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Clean class 4 driver’s license is an added advantage.
