About
Welthungerhilfe is one of the largest German non-governmental organisations in development co-operation and emergency relief. Primarily in co-operation with local partner organisations, our task is to contribute to the improvement in nutritional and income base for the low-income populations in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Welthungerhilfe has been implementing projects in Zimbabwe since 1980. Sector focus is on Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Food and Nutrition Security, Livelihoods and when necessary, Emergency Response.

Duties and Responsibilities

Purpose of the assignment
The purpose of the assignment is to carry out an endline evaluation of the project with the aim to assess and measure the achievement of the project performance indicators. The endline evaluation is expected to provide qualitative and quantitative information on the level of achievement and provide recommendations for strengthening the social enterprise effectiveness and follow-up projects set-up. Furthermore, this endline evaluation is supposed to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the concept and develop recommendations for potential replication of the model in other areas.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualification and experience of the consultants
 Proven expertise in carrying out Social Enterprises and Entrepreneurship related evaluations, solid understanding of MSMEs in Zimbabwe including legal and economic frameworks in the country.
 The consultant(s) should have the following academic qualification and experiences:
o Minimum Master’s Degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Economics or similar subjects.
o Proven minimum 5 years experiences in undertaking similar type of evaluations.
 Strong communication and analytical skills, including communicating with various stakeholders, ensuring that the evaluation is understood and generates valuable output.
 Knowledge and commitment to abide by the ethics and codes of conduct while working with communities.
 Proficiency in English, Shona and knowledge of Ndebele is an added advantage.
