Job Description

We are looking for vibrant and dynamic individuals to fill the above positions.

Reporting to the Estate Manager, the incumbents will be responsible for the management of farm workshops and all Estate machinery/equipment at the Estate.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
The incumbents’ key responsibilities shall include but not limited to: -

• Carrying out scheduled servicing and maintenance of all Estate machinery including tractors, combine harvesters, implements and centre pivots.
• Ensuring there are adequate spares in stores to carry out the scheduled services or the Repairs and maintenance work.
• Actively participate in the calibration of Estate machinery i.e., planters, vicons, seed drills, lime spreaders etc.
• Attending to all breakdowns timeously to minimize down time.
• Maintaining an up-to-date service and R&M record for all machinery.
• Ensure all drivers are carrying out their daily checks on all machinery.
• Testing of new tractor and implement operators
• Assisting in ensuring that land preparation is done well in advance of the optimum planting period.
• Attending to electrical installations on the Estate.
• Carrying out scheduled servicing and maintenance of irrigation equipment on the Estate.
• Any other duties ay may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
• A relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
• At least five (5) years hands on experience.
• Must demonstrate technical competence.
• Trade test and added advantage.

• Motivator in team building to ensure success.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and to work with minimum supervision
• Willing to stay in remote locations.
