Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in a leading retail concern for the position of Warehouse Manager. The role entails achieving set warehouse targets through efficiently and effectively utilising all material, financial and human resources. The role requires an energetic, dynamic and mature individual who is experienced in managing warehouse with a particular focus on receiving, handling and dispatch of stock

Duties and Responsibilities

 Plan, coordinate, lead and control warehouse activities with a focus on creating value for the company in receiving, handling and dispatch of stocks.
 Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in receiving, handling and dispatching of stock. SOP adherence is expected to be enforced to ensure efficiency.
 Communicate effectively with suppliers, stores, procurement staff and executives on the state of stocks and stock movement.
 Ensuring that stock is accounted at receiving, developing initiatives on stock holding aimed at reducing breakages and ensuring that correct quantities are dispatched to various destinations in an efficient manner.
 Review Invoices, IBTS, GITs and other related paper work and acting promptly to minimise stock loses and inefficiencies.
 Physically inspect regularly condition of stocks and constantly reviewing warehouse processes with a view of making the processes as efficient as possible.
 Engage and respond to stakeholders’ questions and queries regarding receiving, handling and despatch of stocks.
 Maintain order, hygiene and safety standards through the application of best practise in warehouse management and complying with all regulatory frameworks.
 Participate and take a lead role in warehouse stocktaking exercise and ensure that all stock is accounted for in the system.
 Participate in people issues for the warehouse particularly in recruitment and selection, compensation, performance management and learning and development

Qualifications and Experience

Person Specification
The ideal person must possess the following:
 Degree/Diploma in Warehouse Management, Supply Chain and/ Business Management from a reputable university or college.
 At least five years’ experience in warehouse management at senior level.
 Sound knowledge of various IT packages such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of any ERP.
 Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and working with numbers.
 Work planning and work scheduling are prerequisites.
