University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences – Clinical Trials Research Centre (UZCHS-CTRC) is seeking a competent suitably trained and qualified Clinic Manager to work at the Milton Park Clinical Research Site (CRS) in Harare.
UZCHS-CTRC is a Centre of Excellence at the UZCHS which implements high level HIV prevention and treatment research and collaborates with a broad range of partners internationally.
Qualifications and Attributes
Degree or Diploma in nursing and/or midwifery; Knowledge of protocol adherence and GCP; 5 years’ experience working in clinical research; Possesses strong management and analytical skills; Good organizational skills and accurate reporting of data; Experience of managing confidential patient records; Excellent oral and written communication skills (Shona and English); Excellent interpersonal skills and team work.
Responsibilities and Duties
Work closely with Site Coordinators; Stand in for the Site Coordinator during his/her absence; Overall responsibility for the supervision of clinic staff; Proper implementation of the study protocol and smooth running of the clinic; Monitor research activities closely and formulate corrective procedures where necessary; Ensure recruitment and retention progresses as per schedule and ensure accurate data collection; Monitoring of accrual and tracking participant retention; Ensure effective management of client visits & that they obtain appropriate care; Ensure protocol adherence i.e. proper consenting process, screening, enrollment and follow up with proper documentation; Conducting randomization of participants and responsible for study product accountability; Develop quality assurance and control measures and respond to QC reports; Maintenance of Infection Control standards; Routinely provide study updates to the Medical Officer, Coordinators and Project Director; Ordering and controlling of all stocks. (stores, equipment, stationery, etc); Monitor and correctly maintain the reimbursement of funds; Ensure appropriate distribution and maintenance of all resources; Ensure effective communication with staff, colleagues and clients; Assess and monitor staff requirements; Monitor sick / annual / maternity leave for staff and conduct staff appraisals; Motivate staff for effective performance, plan, organize and facilitate relevant training for staff; Continually assess the learning needs of staff and take appropriate action; Maintain a high degree of professionalism, ethics and conduct.
