Bookkeeper: Local NGO

A local welfare organisation based in Harare is looking for a mature and experienced Bookkeeper to start on January 2, 2020. The incumbent must be versatile and a person of integrity.

Recording and accounting for daily receipts and expenses; Keeping complete financial and administrative records; Preparing and monitoring monthly cash flows; Generating monthly management accounts; Preparing and supporting annual Audit; Preparing of payroll journals monthly; Preparing bank reconciliations; Preparing quarterly and annually payroll tax returns; Ensuring statutory compliance and timely payments for ZIMRA, NSSA, PAYE etc; Preparing monthly and year-end financial statements; Preparing annual budgets and revised quarterly forecasts; Keeping up to date records of fixed assets; Providing support for administrative activities; Maintaining effective daily operations and making suggestions for process improvements when necessary; Helping with any other duties as assigned from time to time

Skills Required
Extensive knowledge of Pastel, Pay Day, MS Office Package is mandatory; Must have excellent office communication skills; Strong internet navigation skills; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Multitasking with the ability to work under pressure

Experience and Qualifications
An Accounting degree and a professional qualification such as CIMA / ACCA / CIS; At least 5 years of proven work experience as a bookkeeper; Solid understanding of accounting principles and attention to detail; Good presentation and interpersonal skills; Must be well organized and detail oriented
