Urban Social Assistance Enumerators:
Reporting to: Research Manager
Duration: Short Contract Vacancies have arisen within DanChurchAid Urban Social Assistance Programme Enumerators based in Harare (60) and Bulawayo (100).
DanChurchAid in partnership with The United Nations World Food Program wishes to hire Enumerators who will collect household demographic and socio-economic data in Harare South and Bulawayo for a Mobile Cash Transfer Pilot Project. Enumerators are expected to conduct household visits to collect data which will be captured in SCOPE. Collected data is going to be used to enable registration of beneficiaries for the Urban Social Assistance Programmes.
Collect household information as per the requirements of the baseline survey tool through door to door visits using Open Data Kit (ODK);
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders such as the District Development Coordinator’s office, Department of Social Welfare, any other humanitarian organisations and relevant government ministries on the ground;
Consolidate and upload collected data at the end of each day
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Research Manager.
Knowledge and skills
Bachelor’s Degree Social Sciences or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years relevant and proven experience working in similar scope and environment;
Must be able to work in a team setting and function in a culturally diverse work environment; particularly informal settlements.
Self-starter and ability to work with minimum supervision and meet targets
Knowledge of GPS and map reading to locate targeted households
Knowledge of data collection tools e.g. ODK and Magpi
Extensive knowledge of the area under enumeration (Harare South and Bulawayo-Mzilikazi Suburb) is an added advantage
Must have good communication skills
Data capturing skills
Fluent in Shona and or Ndebele
