Reporting To: The Regional Programmes Manager and Working In Close Liaison With The Communications Officer
A local faith based Non-Governmental Organisation involved in development, advocacy and humanitarian work seeks to fill positions for a Food Aid Program in Gutu District. The project has an anticipated life span of 6 months and is designed to reduce hunger, improve nutrition, and increase food security for hunger-affected individuals and households.
Purpose of the position
The incumbent will support the Communication Officer to maintain internal and external media communications with stakeholders and will assist to execute the communications strategy and maintain project documentation
Assist in developing and managing Communications and Public Relations Strategy for the organization; Assist in developing key promotional messages in consultation with the project team and Communications Officer; Assist in coordinating communication activities and events of the organization and partners; Assist in conducting awareness raising campaigns, events, information dissemination workshops; Undertake regular field visits to document information for sharing with partners and government departments; Assist in documentation of case studies, success stories and testimonials; Assist in maintaining and management of organizational social media and other communication platforms; Participates in organizational functions, events, meetings and engagements; Support resource mobilization and fundraising initiatives through media communications and public relations initiatives; Conduct any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
Desired qualifications, technical skills and experience
Degree in Media Studies; At least 1year experience in communications; Good writing and communication skills; Computer literacy; Willingness to work under pressure and over extended periods of time; Committed to the humanitarian principles
