COSV is one of the implementing partners, in consortium with local and international entities, of a project within the ZAGP EU-funded programme. The project aims at improving production and productivity of the livestock value chain, with a strong focus on commercialization of products and market linkages.
The candidate is expected to: Ensure an efficient and effective management (technical, organizational, administrative) of the project activities, under the coordination of COSV programme coordinator/Value Chain Specialist Senior; Contribute to the elaboration of reports and carry out monitoring mission on the field; Build fruitful collaboration and relationships with relevant stakeholders, with specific focus on agricultural sector: beneficiaries (e.g. farmers’ associations, productive groups), local authorities, governmental institutions, private sector, local and international partners, etc; Support other project partners in the identification of viable business opportunities to ensure sustainability of the project activities.
Essential: At least 5 years’ experience in development cooperation, with verifiable references by INGOs in projects funded by international donors; Substantial experience working in Zimbabwe with solid understanding of the country agricultural, cultural, economic and institutional context; Substantial experience in livestock sector, especially goat value chain development; Strong experience in community rural development including field experience and mobilization of farmers in remote areas; Proactive aptitude in building and managing partnerships with different actors; Experience in working with the private sector to develop inclusive viable business; Languages: first class communication skills in Shona, Ndebele and English; Report writing skills (narrative and technical); Strong facilitation, negotiating and problem solving skills; Clean Class 4 Driving license with at least 3 years driving experience and defensive driving certificate.
Strong leadership skills and previous experience in team building and conflict resolution; Sound knowledge in management of EU funded projects: procedures, tools and implementation standards, including project cycle management and LF, gained through previous experiences; Knowledge of M&E tools.
