50 (Fifty) x Coaches (Peer Mentor Volunteers): Grassroot Soccer

Grassroot Soccer (GRS) is an adolescent health organization that leverages the power of soccer to educate, inspire, and mobilize youth in Zimbabwe to overcome their greatest health challenges, live healthier, more productive lives, and be agents for change in their communities. The organization is headquartered in Bulawayo and has operational sites in Matabeleland South, North, Manicaland and Harare.
Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, the Grassroot Soccer Coach ( Peer mentor Volunteer) will be responsible for the implementation of GRS activities at different sites, participate in GRS community outreach programs, and be a positive role model in the community that she / he lives and works in. This position will work in liaison with GRS Master coaches to ensure that quality programming is delivered at different sites and according to schedules.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Assist in identifying and recruiting participants for the GRS programmes; Deliver GRS interventions per site plan; Regular communication with GRS office; Participate in all outreach activities as assigned e.g. Voluntary Counselling and Testing tournaments, VMMC campaigns etc; Assist in general curriculum delivery needs.
A minimum of 3 ‘O’ Level subjects/ Ability to facilitate youth based programs; Ability to take initiative, and work under pressure with limited supervision; Ability to work with youths; Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with diverse staff, members and authorities; Solid organizational, oral, and written communication skills; Ability to work in a team-oriented environment; Ambitious with a true spirit of volunteerism; Experience in voluntary work on HIV/AIDS and SRH programs is an added advantage.
