Graduate Intern (Monitoring and Evaluation): Students and Youth Working on Reproductive Health Action Team (SAYWHAT)

Summary of responsibilities
The graduate intern shall be responsible for providing support to the Monitoring and Evaluation Department in building capacities and coordinating the M & E function at all levels. He/she will assist in the implementation of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework for the organization’s projects and contribute to the design and implementation of related core M&E research and development activities of SAYWHAT. He/she will assist the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in preparing quarterly, annual and progress reports as required and will monitor the overall progress of SAYWHAT programmes in achieving the desired outcomes.

Duties
Coordinate data collection for all running projects; Consolidate project narrative reports received from provinces; Data cleaning and consolidation of project data reports received from provinces; Assist with filing of project documents; Updating data and documents in the Project Information Management system (PRIMASYS); Coordinate the carrying out of Monitoring and Evaluation activities which include Data Quality Audits, Monitoring Visits, Project Baselines, and Evaluations; Attend strategic meetings on behalf of the department; Prepare weekly work plans for the department

Person Specifications
Educational and Professional Qualifications: Degree in any Social Sciences, Statistics or related field; Must have a monitoring and evaluation certificate or better

Experience
Applicants must have a traceable history of peer education work/ and equivalent voluntary work in young people’s health; At least 1 year of experience including graduate internship.

Key Skills and competencies
Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel; Data analysis using packages such as SPSS, NVIVO; A self-starter and able to work independently; English proficiency and ability to communicate; Passion for development work including SRHR; Good interpersonal skills, including team working and networking skills.
