Analyst - HIV Prevention: The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI)

Summary of Position

CHAI is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented individual with strong quantitative and analytical skills to support the development and data-driven implementation of Ministry of Health HIV prevention plans. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to function independently, be extremely self-motivated and have a strong commitment to excellence. The analyst’s primary work will be in analytics for strategy design, implementation, and evaluation.


Collate and analyze data to monitor and evaluate combination prevention program performance against targets
Support the Ministry in preparation for the costed of costed implementation plan(s), funding gap analyses, and strategic documents to operationalize the combination prevention program
Assist with the strengthening/development of M&E systems and process to collect, analyze, and present data on national program performance, efficiency, and cost
Develop presentations and written syntheses of relevant analyses for various audiences including the Ministry of Health and other CHAI teams
Participate in working group(s) to generate and utilize evidence generation for PrEP and other combination prevention implementation
Explore opportunities beyond CHAI Zimbabwe’s traditional work streams (including but not limited to HIV prevention and HIV testing services); scope the opportunities and support the development of the new work streams
Support proposal writing and pitching early stage ideas with a special focus on highlighting the gaps/key problem statements for the identified opportunities
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Program Manager


Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Health, Sciences or other related field
Minimum 1 year work experience
Strong problem solving solving skills and analytical capabilities
Strong spoken and written English
High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Power Point, and Word
Ability to think strategically, handle ambiguity, and problem solve in a fast-paced, limited-structure, multicultural environment
Ability to be effective in high-pressure situations, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and set priorities
Willingness to travel if required and at short notice

Previous work experience in public health or private sector health enterprises
Experience with research and publication processes
