Job Purpose

To contribute to the effectiveness of the organization by developing and ensuring the implementation of Child Protection activities and WASH project delivery.
Ensuring that organisational goals, vision and mission statement are clearly understood and sustained in all areas of operation in the targeted communities
Implementing WASH and Child Protection activities and directly managing day to day hygiene promotion activities in the field

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant qualification in Social Work, Social Sciences, Development Work
• A Minimum of 2yrs working experience in Child Protection and WASH in emergency situations
• A good understanding and appreciation of WASH software and hardware activities
• Up to date knowledge and skills in child rights, child protection, community resilience, community development and mobilization in an emergency context
• Proven record working with at risk children and families
• Proven capacity to coordinate and coach staff in Child Protection and WASH skills
• Project leadership skills and good interpersonal skills with people at different levels of the organization

Key Result Areas

• Ensuring that organisational goals, vision and mission statement are clearly understood and sustained in all areas of operation in the targeted communities
• Implementing WASH and Child Protection activities and directly managing day to day hygiene promotion activities in the field
• Coordinating with Local Authorities and Government line ministries at field level in program areas ensuring that WASH and Child Protection interventions are well structured and communicated
• Conducting training at Ward level on PHHE and CHC formation
• Ensuring that WASH rehabilitation and hygiene promotion activities meet stated objectives within set timeframes and deadlines
• Ensuring program activities foster accountability to beneficiaries and that gender, protection sensitivity and inclusion are adequately addressed in all programming activities
• Representing the organisation at Cluster/Coordination/Working Group meetings and other forum
• Distributing WASH project inputs to the communities affected by Cyclone Idai
• Documenting activities conducted in the district including writing reports
• Liaison with the Rural District Council and other relevant district offices on Organization’s programmes
