C. SENIOR MANAGER FOR PRINTING & PUBLISHING (Ref: zimsechr/03/05/19)
This is a Senior Manager position and the incumbent reports to the Assistant Director-Examinations Administration. He/She is responsible for the following:
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
1. Setting up and operating digital and other printing machinery and equipment, including short-run offset printing presses
2. Regularly monitoring press runs to ensure quality production
3. Conducting regular quality checks on all print jobs
4. Maintaining an inventory of all printing equipment at the Printing Press
5. Maintaining service plans and records for all machinery and equipment to ensure that all machines are in a health state all
the time
6. Planning, scheduling and overseeing all production activities to ensure that production times and volumes are met
7. Determining all consumables and materials required to complete all printing required
8. Monitoring stocks for all consumables for the Printing Press and initiating orders for these in time to maintain economic
re-order quantities
9. Supervising the Production Teams to produce and prioritize jobs and, where necessary, reorganize workflow to meet deadline
10. Maintaining production control records
11. Enforcing and maintaining safety of all employees in the Printing Press
12. Managing all waste and spoilages and organising the disposal of all Printing Press waste
13. Managing estimation and costing of jobs (this may be done in conjunction with the Finance department)
14. Periodic review of the plant's security and IT systems

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

o A Higher National Diploma/Degree in Printing or a related field will be an added advantage
o Qualifications in digital printing essential
o Five years'experience in security printing environment with at least two years in foreman positions

o A strong mechanical/technical orientation
o Ability to work flexible hours including shift work and overtime
o Ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines
o Attention to detail
o Excellent supervisory skills
o Ability to produce results with minimum supervision
