Job Description
The job entails executing the trading and sales responsibilities in line with agreed strategy and within strictly set risk tolerance thresholds in consultation / coordination with the Treasury Manager. Evaluating liquidity and funding and ensuring that cash flows are managed in a proactive manner. Monitoring forecast and presenting local and global economic and position performance reports relevant to daily treasury decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop and manage relationships with institutional and corporate
corporate clients to ensure a growing stable funding book
2. Identify opportunities and develop customised solutions to
customers to ensure healthy closure rates
3. Generate revenue through trading foreign currency and fixed
income instruments, within prescribed dealer limits
4. Conduct regular research to guide sales, trading and ALM decision
making
5. Monitor and manage overall risk within the set ALCO and regulatory
framework
Qualifications and Experience
• A degree in Business Studies/Banking/Finance/Economics or
related field
• Two years’ experience in a financial institution
• Strong numerical and analytical decision making
• Communication and presentation skills
• Highly organised with demonstrated ability to work under
pressure
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a good eye for detail
• Knowledge of financial instruments and their characteristics
• Expert knowledge of trading principles and processes
• Post graduate qualification an added advantage
