Job Description
Technical Training Officer: Grade 12
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the above mentioned post. The incumbent will be reporting to the Human Resources and Administration Executive and will be based at Mt Hampden Training Centre. The position is responsible for coordinating, designing and implementing technical training courses for the organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include the following:-
1. Identification and exploration of opportunities for the development of special technical training courses
2. Identification of skills gaps in liaison with line Managers
3. Coordinating , designing and implementation of customised skills development courses for heavy equipment and motor vehicles
4. Monitoring the apprenticeship programme and recommending interventions
5. Monitoring and evaluation the quality of training provided to users
6. Administering the Mt Hampden training facilities
7. Building and maintaining relationship with CMED clients and other stakeholders.
8. Supervision and appraisal of subordinates.
9. Preparation and submission of regular operational reports to supervisor
Qualifications and Experience
Education and Experience
• 4 years apprenticeship and Skilled Worker Class 1 certification in a relevant motor trade
• A bachelor's degree in Social Science or equivalent
• A professional qualification in Training will be an added advantage
• 2-3 years relevant experience
Competences and skills
• Technical expertise in motor vehicle and/or heavy equipment models
• Ability to interface with various stakeholders
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Planning and organisational skills and results focus
• Innovativeness
• Ability to work independently
• Computer skills
• Clean class 4 driver's licence
