Job Description

Galaway Management Services has been retained by one of its clients – a manufacturing company to recruit and select a suitable candidate for the position of STORESPERSON.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Receives tools, components and materials from customers and suppliers.
• Kits and issues tools, components and materials to the Shop Floor as specified by the Job Card in a timely manner to meet manufacturing schedules.
• Checks inwards documentation, goods and accepts all deliveries to stock.
• Ensures all received stock is undamaged and that everything ordered is present and accounted for.
• Ensures all tools are returned, recorded and placed correctly in the Tool Stores when production is complete.
• Ensures that the supervisor informed of low stock and other shortages which may require re-ordering.
• Ensures all products are suitably packaged and that delivery service used is adequate to meet customer requirements.
• Maintains a safe working environment within the Stores areas and all current Health and Safety legislation is observed. Including basic “house-keeping”.
• Delivers and collects products and material as required.
• Performs any other duties that may be deemed necessary to ensure the effective running of the Department and Company.
• Liaises with production staff, maintenance staff and logistics staff to ensure the smooth running of the shift.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management, Logistics, Warehouse Management or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience.
• Good team worker.
• Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of the business.
• Logical reasoning, with a “can do attitude”.
• Good organizational skills.
