Created in 1979, Action contre la Faim is a non-governmental organization that fights against hunger. Its charter of humanitarian principles - independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims,professionalism, and transparency - has been part of its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of under-nutrition, particularly during and afteremergency situations linked to conflicts or natural disasters. Action contre la Faim focuses its actions on 5 main areas ofexpertise: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health and Care Practices, Gender and Protection - Food Security and
Livelihoods – Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. In 2018, Action contre la Faim provided aid to 21 million

ACF has been working in Zimbabwe since 2002 and over the years, has been a key humanitarian actor in the country.
Since 2015, ACF has adopted an intervention strategy focused on localization and capacity development through partnerships, in particular with two national organizations, NAZ (Nutrition Action Zimbabwe) and AA (Africa AHEAD).
ACF has increased the size of its mission in the course of last year to adequately respond to the rising humanitarian needs.
Action Against Hunger is looking to recruit for the position of:
1. Senior MEAL Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
As Senior MEAL Officer, your main responsibilities will be to:
 Develop and lead implementation of Mission MEAL Plan;
 Manage and report on the implementation of project MEL Plans;
 Design and develop MEAL products for mission projects
 Support partner MEAL teams to execute projects MEAL activities;
 Develop and maintain monitoring and evaluation tools;
 Train and support field teams with MEAL tasks and community surveying;
 Review and lead on project reporting;
 Facilitate the statistical analysis and visualization of project data;
 Contribute to the development of programming strategies and approaches
 Ensure proper management of the devices used in the field,
 Ensure timely request and drafting of ToRs for field visits working closely with the support departments
 Ensure that liquidations are done timely in line with finance procedures
 Safeguard all ACF tools under your care including laptops and other MEAL tools

Qualifications and Experience

Requested profile:
 Degree and or post graduate qualifications in the field of social science, development communication, monitoring and evaluation, economics, statistics, or a related field.
 5 years or more of experience with MEAL, database management, quantitative and qualitative research, and technical report writing.
 Experience with on line data collection and reporting packages
 A demonstrated understanding and experience with USAID, or other major donor agencies, and MEL standards and systems.

Desired Qualifications:
 Knowledge and working experience with relevant technical fields such as: Food security and livelihoods, WASH. Bio diversity, Nutrition, Climate, Health
 Experience developing MEAL products for donors, community and international audiences.
 Creative and with dynamic digital experience.
