VACANCY: Senior Internal Auditor X 1

An exciting opportunity for the position of Senior Internal Auditor Mutare based has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced person at Allied Timbers Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd. Allied Timbers Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd administers the largest commercial forestry plantations in Zimbabwe. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Audit and Risk Officer.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Design and execute tests to verify control effectiveness, execute and document assigned section of the audit plan and other defined responsibilities while adhering to Allied Timbers Zimbabwe procedures and guidelines.
• Identify control weaknesses, regulatory compliance issues and other areas of risk.
• Demonstrate professional skepticism while performing major components of audits within Allied Timbers Zimbabwe's business activities.
• Influence and provide credible challenge across the organisation.
• Lead audits/projects and support special initiatives under the supervision of the Audit & Risk Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist/prepare audit planning memorandum and prepare/tailor audit programs. The audit program will include the assessment of internal control design, operating effectiveness and overall control environment effectiveness.
• Perform fieldwork in accordance with the approved audit program. This will generally include documentation of the system, identification and testing of internal controls, analytical review and substantive testing.
• Clearly and accurately document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the audit engagement objectives and planned audit approach.
• Demonstrating awareness of the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing as promulgated by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
• Effectively communicating with senior colleagues and / or management.
• Working close with management to promptly resolve problems that may arise.
• Demonstrating the ability to research issues, trends, etc.
• Performing other related duties as assigned or as the situation requires.
• Strong proficiency in basic PC applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with a general understanding of data analysis techniques.
• Strong analytical and writing skills.
• Ability to think independently and be a thought leader, professional conduct, a can-do attitude and other qualities that include decisiveness, self-initiative and high energy.
• Assure compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• A team player — with strong organisational, multitasking, and prioritising skills.
• Solid problem-solving and good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A BAcc/Bcom degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Studies.
• Possession of a professional certification such as (CIA, CPA, and ACCA. CISA will be an added advantage)
• Audit experience with an auditing company or accounting firm.

EXPERIENCE
• 3 years' experience in internal and external audit from an Accounting Firm.

REMUNERATION
A remuneration package commensurate with education and experience will be given to the successful candidate.
