Job Description

REGISTRY DEPARTMENT
6.1 Senior Assistant Registrar/Assistant Registrar, Staff Development and Welfare
(I Post)

Duties and Responsibilities


Staff Training Duties
Drawing up Human Resources and Development plans;
- Identifying training needs and recommending appropriate training; programmes
or training institutions that can be use to provide the desired training;
Mounting induction courses for new members of staff from time to time to ensure they become useful members of University;
Planning, organizing and controlling training budgets and evaluation programmes;
Providing technical advice and support on training to Departments and
Ensuring that all categories of staff are exposed to some form of relevant training which improves motivation, performance and commitment to service.
Welfare Duties
• Promoting and maintaining conducive and sound industrial relations; - Establish loan schemes for members of staff;

Advise on practical measures needed in making working conditions safe, healthy and enjoyable;
Liaising with Sports department so that staff have access to suitable sports facilities and resources as a way of maintaining healthy minds and bodies and Recommending measures for improving conditions of life of employees regarding insurance, benefit schemes, housing, transport etc.
Academic Staff Development
' Servicing the Staff Development Committee and
• Implementing the Staff Development Committee's decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and experience
Applicants must holders of a Social Science degree or equivalent from a recognized and reputable institution of Higher Learning. A relevant Masters Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent is a must. The applicants must have knowledge of university structures, appropriate administration work and computer experience in a university set up is a prerequisite. Possession of a Diploma in Training (IPMZ) or equivalent and experience in Training would be an added advantage.
