Job Description
Zimbabwe Power Company is the leading generator of electrical energy in Zimbabwe and supplies the bulk of the nation's electrical power requirements from its five power stations. ZPC is undertaking various projects that are meant to dose the gap between electrical energy demand and supply. The company is now on the execution stage of the 600MW Hwange Power Station: Expansion Project. We are therefore inviting suitably qualified and motivated persons for the following 20 various vacant positions of the project that have arisen on a fixed term contract bas is of up to 18 months.
Section Engineering Instrumentation &Control (X1) Ref: Zpchr13/01/21
Duties and Responsibilities
• Serve as technical lead on C and I engineering aspects of the project by providing end-to-end technical and leadership contributions and support to ensure projects success.
• Leading a project team of C&I Engineers and Technicians
• Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed and materials used conform to required specifications
• Reviewing functional analysis (control, Emergency Shutdown Down, Fire &Gas systems), instrument data sheets, loop diagrams and instrument material take-off
• Monitoring and controlling Implementation of instrument detail designs on P&ID's and detail engineering activities (layouts, routings, supports...)
• Optimizes instrument systems ensuring minimal cost and simplification in compliance with the required performance.
• Ensure appropriate inter disciplinary coordination and efficient communication on the project
• Produces proposals related to C&I for Capital and Revenue expenditure budgets
• Change management for C&I related work
• Supervises Testing and Commissioning of C&I plant and equipment
• Implement IMS in work procedures and ensure implementation by subordinates
Qualifications and Experience
• A Degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent
• At least8 years relevant experience
• Professional engineering accreditation (Engineering Council of Zimbabwe).
• Professional membership (ZIE Corporate Membership)
• Project management professional certification (PRINCE2/PMP)
• Experience in advanced process control (APC), distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC) and su pery isory control and data acquisition (SCA DA)systems.
